Mr. Putin shook hands with the Perm Promobot

Vladimir Putin arrived in Perm on September 8. Within the framework of the working visit, he visited Morion Technopark. He was met by the robot Promobot there – it addressed the president and greeted him. Later the representatives of the company took part in a round table with the head of state, where they announced the development trajectories of domestic robotics.

A working visit to Perm was made by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. He visited the site of the ER-Telecom Holding JSC, where he got acquainted with the achievements of the information and communication cluster of Perm Krai. One of them was the autonomous service robot Promobot, which is manufactured in Perm – the robot that was created to solve various business problems, and its main function is to communicate and improve the company’s service. The robot can recognize faces. When Promobot saw the head of state, it recognized him, greeted him and introduced himself, and also told him about its capabilities:

“Hello, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich. My name is Promobot. I am an autonomous service robot and an open robotic technical platform.”

Representatives of Promobot Alexei Iuzhakov and Oleg Kivokurtsev told Putin about their company. Perm start-up is the largest producer of autonomous service robots in Northern and Eastern Europe. Hundreds of Promobot robots already work in the US, China, Kazakhstan, Ireland, the UK, Spain, Chile and other countries around the world. Their robots are innovative administrators, promoters, hostesses and museum guides, they are used in such companies as NPF Sberbank, Beeline, the Museum of Modern History of Russia, the Moscow Metro. In 2014, Promobot became the winner of the federal accelerator GenerationS, organized by RVC (Russian Venture Company). In 2015 it became a resident of Skolkovo. In 2016, Promobot received investments from the IIDF (Internet Initiatives Development Fund).

After getting acquainted with Perm leading enterprises, Vladimir Vladimirovich opened a round table with their representatives. At the meeting, Alexei Iuzhakov, chairman of the board of directors of Promobot, spoke about the most important aspects of the development of Russian robotics:
“Today Perm is already associated with the leader in the field of service robotics and special programming languages from the expert community. And the products and events held here are known abroad. Leadership in the field of service robotics in the territory of the Russian Federation allowed Promobot to form a professional community of people in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as delivering robots manufactured in Perm to 12 countries of the world, says Alexei Iuzhakov. – The annual event “The Battle of Robots” was held for the first time in Perm in 2015, and in 2016 it became an international event, it allowed to form a pool of children, circles and developing communities that promote the direction of robotics not only in the Perm Territory, but throughout the Russian Federation. In our opinion, it is necessary to create programs of state support in the field of robotics. It is necessary to create a single federal R&D center in the field of robotics. This will ensure the maximum collaborative effect from the interaction of narrow specialists, as well as their constant search and training.”
